Fort Wayne STD Testing

STD Risks- Many STD infections can be present in the body without signs or symptoms.

According to researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, an estimated 20 million people contract such sexually transmitted diseases as chlamydia, human papillomavirus, genital herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea, and HIV/AIDS every year. Those 18 to 24 years old account for nearly half the cases diagnosed in the United States annually.2 In addition, the CDC reports that untreated sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) can cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), a serious condition in women. 1 in 8 women with a history of PID experience difficulties getting pregnant. PID can be prevented.
