sexually transmitted diseases as chlamydia, human papillomavirus, genital
herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea, and HIV/AIDS every year. Those 18 to 24 years old account for nearly half the cases diagnosed in the United States annually.2 In addition, the CDC reports that untreated sexually transmitted
diseases (STDs) can cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), a serious
condition in women. 1 in 8 women with a history of PID experience difficulties
getting pregnant. PID can be prevented.
